There was an 18 wheeler accident on Highway 9 near the Country Store in Cedar Bluff, just prior to 4:30 Wednesday morning.

No one was hurt in the mishap, and no other vehicles were involved.

The driver, Edwin Stiles Miller from Texas, told WEIS Radio News that he lost control of the big rig after swerving to avoid another vehicle which had crossed over into his lane.

The truck, owned by Covenant Transport, was hauling roughly 23,000 pounds of carpet.

It took some time to clear the roadway of debris and remove the vehicle from the ditch; the roadway was re-opened to traffic shortly after 7:00am.
