Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Clayton age 92 of Centre passed away Sunday May 31st at Gadsden Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be 3 PM Wednesday June 3rd at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Lynn Hughston and Rev. Roy Cordle officiating, burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 PM Wednesday.
Pallbearers include Evan Clayton, Carl McDuff, Adam McDuff, Brett Tucker, Wayne Lowe and Tony Lowe.
Survivors include sons, Jim (Linda) Clayton of Dallas, Tx. and Steve (Regina) Clayton of Centre; daughter, Nancy (Larry) McDuff of Centre; sisters, Eleanor Kilpatrick of Gadsden, Melba Nelson of Albertville and Lunette (Bobby) Jenkins of Jackson, Tn.; 9 Grandchildren; 8 Great-Grandchildren; 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Clayton was preceded in death by her husband, James Clayton; brother, Buddy Boyd; sister, JoAnn Harlick.
Mrs. Clayton was a native of Statesboro, Ga., a daughter of the late Leland DeWitt and Ethel Barron Boyd and was a member of Tates Chapel Baptist Church.
