An arrest had been made in connection with the shooting death of a 13 year old Collinsville boy. District Attorney Mike O’Dell, and DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris, called a Press Conference Thursday morning to announce that arrest and provide additional information surrounding the circumstances of the young man’s death last Sunday.

Austin Lane Buchanan was booked into the DeKalb County Detention Center, around 10:30 Thursday morning.

The incident occurred at the family’s home on County Road 51; the gun used in the incident reportedly belonged to the grandmother.

District Attorney O’Dell brought Thursday’s Press Conference to a close with these words:
