Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate an accident which claimed the life of a man who was attempting to change a flat tire alongside I-59 on Monday afternoon.

The victim, identified as 39 year old Louis Nolasco-Cordova – was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident took place around 4:00pm on I-59 North, approximately five miles out of Ashville in Cleburne County.

Troopers say the victim had pulled onto the shoulder of the road due to a flat tire – and was struck and killed moments later by a 1993 Toyota Tacoma, being driven by 63 year Attalla resident Kimmie Wayne Duncan.
