Oxford Accident Claims Life of Anniston Woman

Accident 3An Anniston woman was fatally injured in a single-vehicle accident on Tuesday morning in Oxford.

According to the Anniston Star 25 year old Jordan Hinds was pronounced dead at the scene by Calhoun County Assistant Coroner Jay Bowden.

Hinds was reportedly traveling east on Highway 78 around 1:45am, when her 2005 Suzuki Forenza veered off the roadway at the intersection with Hale Road – traveled about 50 feet down an embankment and struck a ditch head-on.

Police say she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
