The Georgia Department of Transportation is advising motorists of a detour off State Route 20/Alabama Highway at the Norfolk Southern Railroad crossing; that’s being done in order to accommodate work by the railroad company to repair the crossing at that location.
That roadway will be closed until around noon Georgia time today (Friday, December 5th).
Traffic will be detoured onto Woods Road, Garden Lakes Parkway and Huffaker Road.
The Georgia DOT is urging motorists to watch out for message boards and signs along that detour route.
