A DeKalb County man is facing sexual abuse of a child charges following an incident which allegedly occurred at a residence in Fyffe.
53 year old Michael Wayne Hatley was placed under arrest, after investigators conducted a series of interviews in the wake of a call to a home on County Road 538.
He was charged with one count of the Sexual Abuse of a Child under the Age of 12. Sheriff Jimmy Harris told the media he was glad to have an arrest, to help the family in that quickly reported case.
He added that DHR staff members and Sheriff’s Office investigators will continue to develop information in the case, and the child is current safe with family members.
Hatley remains in the DeKalb County Detention Center where he awaits setting of bond.
