Texas Woman Jailed after High Speed Chase in Floyd County

A woman from Burnett, Texas was arrested after she fled from Floyd County Police while in a stolen vehicle Sunday.  According to jail records 29-year old Mariah Shelby Jones was stopped after a brief pursuit on Highway 27 South.

She screamed “You’re not real” at police, before speeding off in a mixture of rain and snow.  She drove onto a congested Turner McCall Boulevard before finally stopping.

Jones is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, theft by taking a motor vehicle, reckless driving, no license, and no seatbelt.
