The National Weather Service will be closely watching the weather situation – as the weekend approaches.
Forecasters say snow, or a wintry mix of precipitation will be possible for portions of the state. They DO stress that a lot of ingredients have to come together to make snow even a possibility here, BUT it could POSSIBLY happen over the weekend. The weather service noted the forecast will evolve – so it’s important to keep up with the most current updates.
The chance for snow will all depend on the track of a weather system that is expected to move through Alabama Saturday into Sunday. Forecasters added that there what they’re calling “some accumulation potential” for snow – generally north of Interstate 20.
If it does snow it shouldn’t hang around long, with highs in our area on Sunday being in the upper 30’s to lower 40’s.
