FREEPORT, Fla. – The Spring Garden Panthers went 2-1 in the Sandestin Blowout in Freeport, Fla., Dec. 27-29. The Panthers lost their first game to Franklin, Tenn., 80-39, but rebounded to take wins over Bayside Academy (57-47) and Whitewater, Ga. (47-45).

In the loss to Franklin, Cooper Austin topped the Panthers with 15 points. He also had three rebounds, an assist and a block. John Welsh added nine points, three boards, two assists, a block and a steal. Cam Welsh collected seven points and a pair of steals. Chaz Pope finished with six points and nine rebounds.

In the win over Bayside Academy, Austin sank three 3-pointers and had 20 points to go along with four assists, three rebounds and a steal. John Welsh delivered 10 points, two assists, a rebound and a steal. Chapel Pope posted eight points, three assists and a pair of rebounds. Jacob Welsh contributed eight points, four boards and a block. Cam Welsh finished with six points, 10 boards, an assist and a steal.

In the win over Whitewater, Austin connected on four 3-pointers and finished with 26 points. He also grabbed 11 rebounds, had a pair of steals and an assist. Chaz Pope provided seven points three rebounds and three steals. Cam Welsh finished with four points, eight boards and a pair of blocks.
