Rome City Police responded to a “bomb threat” Wednesday morning at West Central Elementary School, located on Lavender Road in Rome. Police and school officials quickly evacuated the premises, and transported children to another location while officers conducted a search of the facility.
No explosive device was found. and shortly before 2:00pm the children were allowed to return to the school building.
The Rome Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
