A Ft Payne man was fatally injured in a single-vehicle accident taking place in DeKalb County Thursday afternoon.

According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports, that wreck occurred around 2:45pm on U.S. Highway 11 near South Valley Avenue – approximately a mile outside of Collinsville.

Robert Lee Woody, 76 – was killed when his 2007 Chevy Trailblazer left the roadway. Struck a culvert and overtured. 

Woody, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene,

No additional information is being released at this point – that wreck remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers.
