2021 Leesburg Day Honors First Reponders On 20th Anniversary Of 9/11

This years Leesburg Day Celebration paid honor to Cherokee County’s First Responders on the 20th Anniversary of the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks. The Cherokee County Association of Fire Departments Honor Guard presented the colors and there was also a parade of emergency vehicles prior to the opening ceremonies.

Among those that spoke on Saturday morning was McCords Fire Department Chief Rich Lindsey, Cherokee County EMA Director Shawn Rogers, Probate Judge Tim Burgess, State Senator  Andrew Jones and State Representative Ginny Shaver.

Leesburg officials say that they had just a little over 40 vendors for this years event.
