Cherokee County Commission Meeting August, 23rd

The Cherokee County Commission held their regular meeting on Monday evening in the Cherokee County Administrative Center. During that meeting Cherokee County Chief Deputy Josh Summerford and other employees of the Sheriff’s Office recognized Sheriff Jeff Shaver with an award for 40 years of dedicated service in law enforcement.

The Commission a Reciprocal agreement between the Department of Revenue and Cherokee County providing for the exchange of tax returns and information. The Commission also approved a digital information cooperative agreement between the Department of Transportation and Cherokee County. 

Other approved items included; 

Approved agreement with Project Resources Group for the relocation of Charter Spectrum fiber lines at the new courthouse site. (Cost of $16,424.02)

Chairman announced that the appointment of two positions on the Cherokee County Department of Human Resources Board will be made at the September 27th commission meeting. Resumes, letters, etc will be accepted through the close of business on Wednesday, September 22nd in the Commission office. 
 
Approved the emergency purchase and installation of a control system in the Detention Center. This is to be purchased from Viper Security Technologies at a cost of $98,227.00 and will funded via the Capital Improvement fund. 

Approved a Standard Form Architect Agreement with PH&J Architects, Inc for the Cherokee County Public Safety Training Center to be funded by the Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Fund.

 
The next Cherokee County Commission meeting will be Monday, September 13th at 10:00 a.m.
