Gaylesville Student Proudly Opts for Career in Military

Gaylesville High School senior Laiton Keith graduated Basic Combat Training in Fort Sill, Oklahoma on August 13th (2021).  Keith, who holds the rank of Private 2nd Class left for the Fort Sill “Fires Center of Excellence” back on June 1st, where he completed an extensive, ten week basic training course.

Private 2nd Class Keith enlisted in the Army National Guard as a junior in high school and following his senior graduation, will report to Fort Lee, Virginia for his Advanced Individual Training – next, he’ll travel to Fort Benning, Georgia for Airborne School.

After completing all training, he plans to apply for pilot school.

Private 2nd Class Keith is a member of the Gaylesville High School football team, FFA String Band BETA Club and Student Council.
