CEDAR BLUFF – For the third time this season, Jordyn Walker tossed a no-hitter against Valley Head in the Lady Tigers 15-0 softball victory in four innings in the Class 1A, Area 13 tournament at Cedar Bluff on Thursday.

Walker walked one and struck out seven. She also went 2-for-3 at the plate with a walk and three runs.

Emma Haney was also 2-for-3 with a home run and a double. She scored twice and drove in three runs. Mary Sausville added a pair of doubles, a run and three RBIs. Reece Patterson went 2-for-2 with a double, two walks, two runs and three RBIs. Mattie Payne also had a pair of hits, including a double, with two runs and two RBIs. Haley Allen contributed two hits, including a double, and a run. Caitlin Slayton had two hits, two runs and a RBI. Maggie Clowdis and Harlie Nelson scored a run apiece.

The Lady Tigers await the winner of this afternoon’s 4:30 p.m. elimination game between Gaylesville and Valley Head. Valley Head defeated Gaylesville 6-2 in the tournament opener on Thursday. The area championship game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
