Rome Man Robs Woman of Her Shoes at Chick-Fil-A on Shorter Avenue

A Rome man was arrested Friday after a somewhat, shall we say, ODD incident at the drive-thru of the Chick-Fil-A on Shorter Avenue.

According to Floyd County Jail records 28-year old Devon Franklin Jones Jr. pointed a gun at the victim – believed to be his estranged girlfriend – and stole her shoes.

He then reportedly tossed the gun and ran when he saw police officers arriving at the scene.  He was quickly taken into custody, and was charged with robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during commission of a crime, pointing a pistol at another, obstruction of officers, reckless conduct, illegally entering an auto – and littering.
