Lady Warriors earn area victory at Etowah; Warrior boys fall short

ATTALLA – Karlee Perry provided 20 points and six rebounds in leading the Cherokee County Lady Warriors to a 54-45 Class 4A, Area 10 girls basketball victory at Etowah on Friday.

Audrey Green added 15 points and six assists for the Lady Warriors (14-4, 3-0). Mary Hayes Johnson collected 10 points and four steals. Ella Garmany pulled down 12 rebounds.

In boys action, despite 18 points from Connor Elrod and 13 from Nas Diamond, the Warriors fell by the final of 65-59.

Jack Amos added nine points for the Warriors (7-9, 2-1). Slade Alexander contributed eight points. Jaden Wilson tossed in six points and Malachi Horton finished with five points.
