Cherokee County first responders were busy answering a number of calls on Sunday. 

Firefighters from Broomtown, Gaylesville and Cedar Bluff responded to Mt. Bethel Church on County Road 99 in the Broomtown area in reference to a possible structure fire. 

Firefighters arrived to find there had been a fire inside a breaker box but church members were able to quickly extinguish it with a fire extinguisher. 

A short time later, Centre Firefighters were called to a vehicle fire in the parking lot at Advanced Auto Parts. Centre Fire Chief Jeremy Lee said that no one was injured and the cause of the fire is unknown. 

Just prior to 4:00 that afternoon Spring Garden, Ellisville and McCords responded to a reported structure fire at a residence on County Road 29. Spring Garden Fire Chief Butch Jacobs said that the fire started in a trash can that setting close to the house. The fire was quickly extinguished and the home suffered minimal damage.
