GAYLESVILLE — The Gaylesville Trojans swept a varsity basketball doubleheader with Victory Christian on Friday.
The Lady Trojans picked up their first win with a 40-19 victory. The Trojan boys won the nightcap 55-40 to improve to 2-3.
In the girls game, Star Mayes sank five 3-pointers and had 16 points. Delaney Coker and Shonda Epps both collected six points. Natalie Baty finished with five rebounds.
Grace Haney led Victory Christian with seven points.
In the boys game, Keylon Higgins posted 27 points, 11 rebounds and eight steals. Kyler Bradley contributed 11 points. Jacob Gordon collected 10 points and 10 boards. Tanner Eads and Briley Mitchell grabbed five rebounds apiece.
Dalton Llewellin topped Victory Christian with 16 points.
Gaylesville hosts Woodville in area play on Tuesday beginning at 5:30 p.m.
