New School Board Member Randall Davis Sworn-In

The Cherokee County School Board welcomed its newest member on Tuesday as Board Member Randall Davis was officially sworn in by Superintendent Mitchell Guice prior to the regular meeting.

The board also elected a new Board President and Board Vice President with Corey Colbert and Lisa Chandler being nominated respectfully.

Superintendent Mitchell Guice announced that following 25 years of service, he would officially be retiring effective January 1st, 2021.

The board also approved to declare a flooring project at the Career & Tech School as a public works project. In addition, they approved a proposal from BBB Educational Enterprises for Professional Development Services.

A construction contract with Willoughby Roofing and Sheet Metals was approved for re roofing  of the band rom at Cherokee County High School.

An agreement with Auburn University for 21st Century Community Learning Program was also approved for Centre Middle and Gaylesville Schools.
