Spring Garden moves up another spot, Piedmont remains fifth in latest ASWA football rankings

For the second straight week, the Spring Garden Panthers (7-1) moved up a spot in the Alabama Sports Writers Association high school football rankings. The latest rankings were released late Tuesday evening.

The Class 2A Panthers come in at No. 6 this week after a Region 6 clinching 55-19 win over Sand Rock. Spring Garden travels to Southeastern (6-2) this Friday.

In Class 3A, the Piedmont Bulldogs (7-1) remained at No. 5 following a 40-7 victory over Hokes Bluff on Friday. The Bulldogs travel to second-ranked and Region 5 foe Wellborn (8-0) in a battle with major playoff implications.
