CENTRE – Cherokee County High School football coach Jacob Kelley confirmed late Monday evening that the Warriors’ Week 7 Class 4A, Region 4 home football game against Handley has been moved from Friday to Thursday night at 7 p.m. The move was made in anticipation of stormy weather on Friday.
The Warriors come into the contest at 6-1 and 3-0 in the region. Handley is 4-0 and 3-0 in region play. This will be the first meeting between the two schools since 1989. Cherokee County leads the series 5-1.
The Handley at Cherokee County game is the second area high school game to make the move to Thursday. Gaylesville at Cedar Bluff was also bumped up a day earlier on Monday.
