Billy Long, age 77 of Centre, passed away Sunday, October 4th, 2020 at his residence.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday, October 6th, with Rev. Ricky Pollard officiating. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM Tuesday.
Pallbearers include Harvey Norton, Leon Jones, Lane Chandler, Charles Chandler, Cory Teague, and Carlton Teague
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Long of Centre, AL; son, Terry Dewayne Long of Murfreesboro, TN; brother, Charles Long (Suzanne) of Hokes Bluff; Grandson, Dakota Burns; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and even great-great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Long was preceded in death by his sister, Jan Cox (Greg).
Mr. Long was a native of Cherokee County, and the son of the late Clarence Weaver and Mary Emma (Thurman) Weaver. He was employed by American Apparel for 43 years and was a member of Tates Chapel Baptist Church.
The family will accept flowers or donations to St. Jude’s Hospital.
