Dixie Jackson, age 84 of Centre, passed away Tuesday, September 29th at Cherokee Health & Rehab.
Graveside services will be 1:PM Saturday, October 3rd at Howell’s Cemetery, with Rev. Robert Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM Saturday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Survivors include brother, Sylvester T. Harkness of Rome, GA; sisters, Murline Viar of Norwalk, OH, Helen Price of Centre, Mary R. Huey of Piedmont, Lotatise Starr of Centre; God-Grandmother to Amiya Dupree; a host of cousins; several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings, James Harkness, Odell Harkness, Lillie Cook, Jo Ann Chambers, Freddie Harkness.
Mrs. Jackson was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late Reuben Jasper and Florence Reese Harkness and was of the Methodist faith.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cherokee County Cancer Society.
