Senator Andrew Jones, earlier this week, announced some great news for the City of Attalla and Etowah County.
Jones revealed that the City was recently awarded a major grant, in the amount of $200,000 – to help provide water upgrades for the new Koch’s Feed Mill; the mill will provide 28 new full-time jobs to the area with an annual payroll of around one million dollars, resulting in a total investment of some $55 million in Etowah County.
A Koch Foods spokesperson says the Attalla facility, which has been designed with the most technologically advanced features available will support their expanded processing plant in Gadsden. The ground-breaking at the state-of-the-art grain storage and distribution facility was held last November (November 5th, 2019).
The 130-acre feed mill has the ability to hold more than one billion bushels of corn – served directly by rail.
