One person was airlifted to an area trauma center after the golf cart he was driving was struck by a car on Highway 9 in Cedar Bluff on Tuesday afternoon.

The driver of the golf cart was attempting to cross the highway from the Weiss Mart Marina when he was struck. The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was taken from the scene by Floyd EMS to a Landing Zone at Cedar Bluff School where he was flown to a Huntsville Hospital, his condition is unknown.

The Cedar Bluff Police and Fire Departments and Floyd EMS responded to the scene.
