The teenager injured while swimming in Weiss Lake over the weekend is expected to make a full recovery. 

Family members say that 17 year old – who was struck by a boat propeller while swimming near the State Boat Docks on the causeway in Cedar Bluff on Saturday afternoon underwent surgery at Erlanger in Chattanooga and is well on his way to recovering from his injuries.

Following the incident, the teen was air-lifted to Erlanger for treatment.

The Centre Fire Department, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and Alabama Marine Police – in addition to Floyd EMS responded to the scene.
