The body of a 54-year old man found on banks of the Etowah River Sunday evening is being sent to the GBI Crime Lab for an autopsy. Kayakers made the discovery at around 7:30 near 2nd Avenue and Riverbend Drive in Rome.
It is believed the man is from Florida.

His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin and a cause of death has yet to be determined.
Authorities do not suspect foul play at this time.
