Three people were arrested locally, and booked into jail on controlled substance charges on Thursday.

Charles Edward McKinney, age 49 and Michelle Lynn McCullough, age 38 – both of Ft Payne – were charged with Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and booked in just after 3:00pm, with bond being set at $3,000 each.

John David Whitmire, age 31 of Cedar Bluff was arrested just prior to 1:00pm, charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Attempt to Promote Prison Contraband 2nd Degree.  Bond for Whitmire was also set at $3,000.

All three currently remain in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
