Man Reported Missing While Floating Terrapin Creek Sunday Night Found Safe

A few tense hours fortunately ended well, after a man was reported missing after becoming separated from his group while floating Terrapin Creek late Sunday evening.  A call was made to Cherokee 9-1-1 just before 9:00pm reporting that individual missing; he was last seen around 6:30 several miles down Terrapin Creek from the Ellisville Bridge.

Members of the Cherokee County Rescue Squad, Game & Fish Officers along with Alabama Marine Police and the Cherokee County EMA responded to the scene and began a coordinated search.

The 34 year old man was located on the creek, safe – shortly after 11:00 that night.
