Woman Injured in Sunday Afternoon Accident in Rome, Dies Tuesday

An 85-year old Rome woman involved in the two-vehicle collision on North Broad Street at East Callahan Street over the weekend – has died. 

According to a Rome Police report Betty J. Battles ran the red light on East Callahan and her Mercury Grand Marquis was t-boned by a Ford F-150.  Battles was taken from the scene to an area hospital by Floyd EMS.  She died on Tuesday.  A passenger in her vehicle was treated for minor injuries as was a passenger in the F-150.

The wreck occurred at around 1:50pm Sunday.
