Four Arrested Following High-Speed Chase in Cherokee County Expected to be Charged in Chattooga County Today

Four individuals arrested here in Cherokee County on Friday following a high-speed chase are expected to be charged in Chattooga County, Georgia today (Monday, April 22nd).  A chase began after a shoplifting incident allegedly occurred in Summerville – with a number of Summerville Police Officers and Chattooga County Deputies pursuing the suspect’s car on Highway 114 toward the Alabama/Georgia state line.  Summerville Officer Phillip Cox said during the course of the pursuit someone in the vehicle tossed possible contraband out of the window, and the driver attempted to ram a police officer’s car.

Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Investigators joined the chase on Highway 68, just before the driver made a wrong turn and crashed beside the old convenience store at the four-way stop in Gaylesville, slamming into several small trees.

Cedar Bluff Police and an Alabama Wildlife/Conservation Officer also assisted in that chase. Floyd EMS Medics were called to the scene to check on one of the female suspects, who was reported to be pregnant.  Four suspects were taken into custody at the scene by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and were all transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center – they included Adriana Omesha Christian, age 19; Mykia Myshay Crutcher, age 23, and 22 year old Tavarus Tremonte Crutcher, all from Nashville, Tennessee; and 22 year old Tywan Lamonte Hatcher from Madison, Tennessee.  All four were booked in on charges of Fugitive from Justice and Attempting to Elude.

Bond for each was set at $1,500.
