Two individuals were arrested on drug charges in Cherokee County on Thursday.

Melissa Nicole Teague, age 34, was charged with two counts of the Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance and two counts of Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia along with Failure to Appear on three previous counts of the Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance. 

Meanwhile Amanda Dawn Lavender, 31, was arrested on charges of Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Teague was booked into jail just prior to 5:00pm, and is awaiting a bond hearing; Lavender was booked in around 10:00 that night and her bond has been set at $3,000.

Both currently remain in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
