Time Change is this Weekend – Time to “Spring Forward”

It’s almost time to spring forward!

Daylight Saving Time 2019 officially begins at 2:00am Sunday, March 10th – meaning you’ll need to move your clocks forward one hour before going to bed Saturday night, March 9th.

It’s also a good time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors.

Contrary to popular opinion Daylight Saving Time doesn’t last for half the year.  It stretches approximately eight months, and will come to an end Sunday, November 3rd.  It’s been that way since 2007, when Congress declared that Daylight Saving Time actually begins in the United States on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November.

The observance is often misidentified as “Daylight Savings Time” with an extra “S,” but its name comes from the idea of saving daylight.
