Chattooga County 9-1-1 Dispatcher Arrested by Drug Task Force Agents

A Chattooga County 9-1-1 dispatcher was arrested by Drug Task Force Agents earlier in the week in Walker County, Georgia.

Agents with the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force arrested four people at the Kangaroo Express on North Main Street in LaFayette.  Drug Agents were investigating a separate case when they witnessed a “suspicious exchange involving money” take place.

Those arrested in the first incident included 31 year old Justin Allen Wood for possession of meth and use of a communication device to facilitate a crime and Michelle Danielle Case, 38 for possession of meth.

Thirty-three year old Charles Brandon Nicholson, an employee of Chattooga 9-1-1 admitted to Drug Task Force Agents that he gave money to Wade Gilbert, Jr., age 30, for the purpose of purchasing opioid pills.

Gilbert had left to get the pills and was pulled over by LaFayette Police shortly thereafter – he was arrested and charged with the possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and two counts of possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Nicholson was taken into custody, and arrested on a charge of criminal attempt to purchase a Schedule II controlled substance.
