Very little information is known at this time, but WEIS Radio News has learned that a body was discovered Monday near Piedmont.  

Tuesday Piedmont Police Chief Freddie Norton told WEIS Radio the case was being handled by the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office and we spoke with Investigator Freeman just before noon Wednesday.  He told us very little information is being released at this time due to the fact that it remains an active investigation, however he did confirm that the body of a white male was found in Terrapin Creek near Piedmont at around 10:00 Monday morning.

  It was unclear just how long the body had been in that location and an exact cause of death has yet to be determined.
