A Cherokee County man was arrested in northwest Georgia following a high speed chase in which he allegedly attempted to ditch drugs and a stolen firearm.
Adam Kane Wright, 20 of Centre, was booked into the Floyd County Jail after fleeing officers as they attempted to initiate a traffic stop. According to reports, he was later found to be in possession of a digital scale and methamphetamine, and that he also attempted to discard a large amount of meth and a gun on a public street. It was later determined that the gun had been reported stolen from Calhoun, Alabama.
Wright is charged with fleeing, concealing a license plate, improper lane change, possession of drug related objects, two counts of reckless conduct, theft by receiving stolen property, the unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, tampering with evidence, abandonment of dangerous drugs, driving on a suspended license, the possession of meth and with failure to appear.
