Farmers working to pick their cotton crop were interrupted Wednesday afternoon, when a cotton picker they were operating caught fire and went up in flames along the roadside.  The incident occurred in a field owned by the Acker Family off U.S. Highway 278.

The Spring Garden Volunteer Fire Department and other agencies quickly responded to the scene; fortunately, there were no injuries.
