Coroner’s Office Releases Name of Deceased Individual Found in Cotton Field off County Road 7

According to Cherokee County Coroner Dr. Jeremy Deaton, Michael Anthony Sprayberry, 36 of Cedar Bluff was found deceased in a cotton field off of County Road 7 in Pollard’s Bend at around 5:00pm Friday (October 12th).  Dr. Deaton says that an autopsy is being performed by the Alabama Department of Forensic Science, and that no additional information will be released at this time.

Cherokee County Chief Investigator Josh Summerford informed WEIS Radio Friday that the body had been discovered by a farmer near the Etowah County line, and the investigation is on-going. 

Those involved in that investigation include the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Cherokee County Coroner’s Office and the JSU Center for Applied Forensics.
