A northwest Georgia man is headed to prison after pleading guilty to First Degree Vehicular Homicide and DUI.
41 year old Brandon Heath Drennan of Trion in Chattooga County – admitted responsibility for the April 2017 car crash which fatally injured Lavonne Humphrey on Highway 100 near the Holland-Chattoogaville Road.
He also confessed to being high on methamphetamine when the wreck occurred.
Last week, Superior Court Judge Kristina Cook-Graham sentenced Drennan to seven years in prison and eight years probation. His intention to plead guilty was communicated to the court in August, and around six weeks of pre-sentencing investigation served to determine the sentence.
Drennan had already racked up a total of seven DUI’s; six of those in Chattooga County.
