According to the Gwinnett County, Georgia District Attorney’s Office, a leader of a subset of the Bloods gang ordered a Lawrenceville, Georgia man’s murder while incarcerated at Hays State Prison in Chattooga County.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution is reporting that 37 year old Gordon Evans was convicted of three counts of felony murder, two counts of criminal street gang activity and one count each of malice murder, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and aggravated battery in connection with the death of Jeffrey Anderson.

A jury returned guilty verdicts on all counts on August 17th, following a two-week trial.

Anderson was found dead in a Lawrenceville home with two gunshot wounds to the back of his head in November of 2015.  Shortly thereafter, police discovered a threatening text that had been sent to Anderson a month before he was killed; that text was sent by Evans with a contraband cell phone, according to the DA’s Office.  At that time, Evans was incarcerated at Hays State Prison.   The District Attorney’s Office said that Evans sent two lower level gang members to kill Anderson.

Evans was sentenced to a term of life in prison, plus 20 years.
