Pilot Uninjured After Plane Goes Down Short Of The Runway At The Centre-Piedmont-Cherokee County Airport

The pilot of a single engine plane was not injured after his aircraft went down just shy of the runway at the Centre-Piedmont-Cherokee County Regional Airport on Tuesday afternoon.

Officials with Cherokee County EMA, Ellisville Fire Department, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Cherokee EMS and the Cherokee County Rescue Squad responded to the initial 911 call.

Cherokee County EMA Director Shawn Rogers said that there was no fuel spilled during the incident and that officials with the FAA were notified. The pilot was the only occupant of the plane. The cause of the accident has not been officially released at this time.
