A Summerville man was killed in a single vehicle wreck on Highway 140 in Floyd County on Sunday afternoon.  

According to hometownheadlines.com, Roy C. McCary, age 60, died after his car ran off of Georgia 140 at Davis Loop Road in Armuchee.

According to Floyd County Coroner Gene Proctor the initial investigation shows that he lost control, leading the vehicle to leave the roadway and crash into a tree.  Proctor says McCary was pronounced dead at 2:35pm from blunt force trauma caused by the collision.

The accident and the resulting investigation had traffic tied up for around an hour.  Results of that investigation have yet to be released
