Both drivers were injured in a two-vehicle accident taking place Friday morning next to the Cherokee County Highway Department.
That wreck took place just after 10:30 with the impact from the collision sending one of the vehicles, a Nissan Altima, through the fence surrounding the Highway Department yard. According to the Centre Police Department accident report those involved were 93 year old Centre resident Dorothy Miller, driving the Nissan, and Terry Lee Amos, age 71 of Ringgold, Georgia, driving a 2007 Chevy 1500.
Both drivers were taken by Cherokee EMS ground units for treatment with Miller carried to Redmond Regional in Rome while Amos was transported to Cherokee Medical Center.
Centre Police and Firefighters along with Cherokee EMS – and the Cherokee County Rescue Squad responded to the scene.
