Northwest Georgia Homicide Investigation Continues

Chattooga County, Georgia Sheriff Mark Schrader says the investigation into the September shooting death of a Butler Dairy Road man continues, and so far no arrests have been made.  On Monday, September 18th law enforcement officials were notified by Renee Lanham that she had arrived home to find her husband, Edward Earl Lanham, dead.  Investigators responded to the call and continued the investigation throughout the night.  The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to assist local law enforcement officials.

Schrader said the investigation revealed that the victim appeared to have died as a result of gunshot wounds that were not self inflicted – adding that the case would be investigated as a homicide.  The sheriff says his office is still conducting interviews and gathering evidence, and anyone with any information regarding this case is encouraged to contact investigators at (706) 857-3411.
