An Etowah County man died in a single-vehicle accident on Labor Day.

Sheriff Todd Entrekin said that 22 year old Stanley Jacob Winston from Gadsden was fatally injured when a 2001 Nissan that he was driving in the 1200 block of Owl’s Hollow Road left the roadway and slid down an embankment crashing into several trees.  Winston had been reported missing shortly before 5:00am – his vehicle was found wrecked approximately three and a half hours later.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation.
