According to information from Park Ranger Larry Beane a 39 year old male was injured after he lost his footing and fell approximately 45 feet into waist deep water at Little River Falls on Tuesday.

According to Beane, staffers received the report at 11:30 a.m.

A helicopter unit from Alabama State Troopers retrieved the man from the bottom of the canyon and transported him to a hospital.

Bean said that this is the fourth major accident to occur at the falls since Memorial Day.
