A vehicle that was reported stolen from the Centre area on Tuesday has been recovered by Sheriff’s Office Investigators Tony Monroy and Jeremy Stepps, who found the vehicle under the Highway 35 bridge in Gaylesville.  The driver attempted to flee, and led them on a brief chase through the woods before being apprehended.

  According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver 24 year old Brandon Dio Connell of Gaylesville was arrested and charged with first degree theft of property, with the unlawful possession of controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and with the unlawful possession of marijuana.

Connell remains in the Cherokee County Detention Center, where he awaits setting of bond.
