Rome Resident Charged with Bringing Stolen Property From Alabama into Georgia

A 45 year old Rome resident was arrested Tuesday, on charges of Bringing Stolen Property into Georgia from Alabama. 

According to Floyd County Jail records, back on February 6th Billy John Hammonds sold a Harley Davidson motorcycle to a Silver Creek man for $2,500, but it turned out the bike had been reported stolen in Centre the day before.  

He was additionally charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property and Failure to Appear along with two Probation Violations.
